Celebrate The Night Testimonials
Katherine Heart, Performer, of West Mifflin, Pa. says;
"As a poet-performer, my experience at Celebrate The Night was personally and professionally empowering. I received helpful feedback from individual audience members who talked with me after the performance.
My work is now at the publisher, and I hope to have my book, TELLINGS: From Wound to Wellspring ready to sign and sell at this year's event."
Beth and Lori, Vendors - Ellenbees, of Pittsburgh, Pa. says;
"Celebrate the Night is a terrific way for women in Pittsburgh to shine. With a larger space, a real stage, great door prizes and a super cruise on the line, the most recent CTN was the best ever. How could you not enjoy this?!?
If there's one place to be in October, it's Celebrate the Night. We can't wait to see what's in store for 2007!!!!!"
Chris, Audience Member, of Pittsburgh, Pa. says;
"I attended last year for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the turnout & creative presentations. Whether it's singing, poetry or comedic acts that spark your interest, these and several other forms of entertainment were provided.
Aside from the show itself, there were refreshments & various booths & raffles that added to the night. If you wanted to buy the musicians CD's or win a special prize, the opportunity was there! And all for $20.
The big surprise was a raffle to try and win an all inclusive cruise for 2 people for 7 days to the beautiful Carribean. The evening ended with a DJ dance. It was a fun night out with my straight and gay friends and a great way to participate in an activity I normally wouldn't have."
Karen McKee, Audience Member, of Regent Square, Pa. says;
"I have attended the last four "Celebrate The Night" events, having only missed the first one. I happened to be sitting at a table with one of the perfomer's straight co-workers and I was overwhelmingly pleased that they came to show their support. This is a wonderful night out for gay women in our very socially-limited city of Pittsburgh.
The talent was as wonderful as in the previous four years, as was the comical hostess for the evening. I can't imagine how challenging it must be to get up in front of that large crowd and try to make everyone laugh. I also think having so many vendors from such a wide range of interests is a great thing that Celebrate The Night provides for the gay community. We do all need to be as supportive as we can of one another and what a perfect place to do it.
The dancing afterwards was wonderful. I think the music played by the disc jockey kept everyone on the dance floor from the first song to the last. I usually don't dance as much as my friends, but the music even got me up on the dance floor alot that evening.
For those of you who never attended a "CTN", please come, show your support, have a great night out, and see what everyone's talking about."
Kathleen Helms & An Lewis, Volunteers & Contributors, of Pittsburgh, Pa. says;
"An and I donate to CTN every year. We have never missed a show and have had
a terrific time watching the entertainment and dancing. It is a wonderful
event that not only showcases our community talent but it provides a venue
for visiting with old and new friends.
Supporting CTN not only benefits the
GLCC but also the vendors who serve our community. Whatever your talent,
join in or just show up. You will have a blast!!"
Donna, Performer, of Pittsburgh, Pa. says;
Dear CTN:
"Participation in CTN 2006 was a major milestone for me.
I hadn't read my poetry publicly in over 20 years, and while
I was beyond nervous, I was mostly grateful for the opportunity to
express my gratitude to a community that was very good to me and
helped me in a time of trouble (in my youth).
Thank you for that opportunity. I'll never forget it. May you continue
to deepen, broaden, and strengthen the Pittsburgh women's community."
Alexandra Sabina, CTN Audio Engineer, of Verona, Pa. says;
"For 6 years I have engineered with CTN and never before have I seen so many people pour their hearts into a belief without asking for any compensation other than smiles and cheers.
Even with the tactless criticism I have seen some performers, volunteers and committee members endure, there they are year after year striving to produce yet, another show for all who come to enjoy.
I just wanted to take a few moments to say thank you to CTN and its staff, the vendors and sponsors who help in providing the means for this event to move forwards, but most of all I want to thank the most important contributors to CTN;
THANK YOU!, to all the volunteers and performers for whom, with out your hard work and dedication, this event would cease to exist."
Uknown Contributor says;
"I attended the past 2 years events. I Liked your MC both years, she is funny, and her partner sings well."
Sue, Audience Member, of Pittsburgh, Pa. says;
"Best to you in the future and I hope that all is well with you. Thnmks for being there for all of us and for being willing to listen to those who want to support you.." Smiles,sue
